Irrigation Changes Coming

The Board of Directors approved a change from the current sprinkler irrigation to a drip irrigation system for all planters throughout the community. Grass areas will still have sprinklers. The change was approved for a number of reasons including water conservation, availability of rebates, lower maintenance costs, less water on sidewalks, and savings on the costs of water for the Association. Drip irrigation also gives plants a more stable amount of water right at their roots and will keep water from sprinklers from hitting the sides of homes. You may have already seen the irrigation at the pool planters change.

Over the next couple of months, Cal Landscape will be changing over all sprinkler systems in the planters to drip irrigation. This will require them to dig into planters, remove the old irrigation lines and sprinkler heads and place in the new drip irrigation lines and valves. Cal Landscaping will do everything they can to minimize any disturbances to the residents but there will be some noise associated with the work. They will also take care to ensure minimal disturbance to any plant life. Should you have any concerns or comments – please do not contact the landscaping company or approach, discuss, or interfere with the workers performing the jobs. Please contact Management at mrahm@optimumpm.com.

If you are a homeowner who maintains your own landscaping, the watering system for your plants will also be changed to drip irrigation. Cal Landscaping will do their best to not disturb any of your plants. Please monitor your plants after the change as they may need additional hand watering from you.
